History
The Blue house is located in historic Elizabethtown, which located in southeast IIllinois along the banks of the beautiful Ohio River. The town itself was established in the early 19th century and served as a focal point for river traffic from its beginning. The original portion of the Blue Huse house was constructed in the late 19th century, while the more current addition was built in the late 1940's. At one time the largest Chestnut tree in the state of Illinois was located on the property, but was destroyed by a blight that passed throught he area in the 1920's. The house reflects a part of the historic heritage of Elizabethtown and the Hardin county area. We are happy to welcome you as our guests, and provide you with all the comforts of home as you enjoy yourself in scenic Southeast Illinois.
